The Alzheimer's Activity Center provides therapeutic activities to individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related conditions.
The services include adult day care activities that:
- enhance the use of cognitive skills;
- stimulate interaction on personal & group levels;
- encourage mobility & stability;
- provide monitoring & assistance in the areas of nutrition & personal hygiene.
We are able to accommodate individuals who are incontinent, who wander, and those who may have behavioral challenges.
The Qualified Dementia Care Provider credential is a nationally recognized certification of expertise in caring for and understanding individuals with dementia and related conditions. Our staff are Qualified Dementia Care certified.
With our safe and secure activity rooms and our quarter of an acre, park-like outdoor area, we offer our clients a sense of freedom and choice which reduces frustration and agitation. All activities are modified to foster the experience of success for each individual. Intergenerational activities with the Rosa Elena Childcare Center offer unique opportunities for interaction and connection. The complete freedom of movement afforded by the Alzheimer's Activity Center's environment has proven extremely beneficial to our clients.
Services are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9:00am to 5:00pm every Saturday beginning January 1, 2010 (excluding holidays). The extended hours offer families the opportunity for 55 hours per week of respite care, supporting the working caregiver. Daily attendance ranges from 65 to 75 clients.
